Assynt Development Trust is seeking new Board directors to help to maintain the organisation’s track record of sound strategic, operational and financial management.
This is an important and influential position in our community that requires interest in the future of Assynt’s economy, environment and wellbeing. We are looking for committed people who wish to build on ADT’s success in fulfilling its remit and strategic partnerships, whilst supporting the future sustainability of our many townships.
Over the past six years, ADT has developed a trusted reputation for our role as an anchor organisation that has seen us involved in many projects ranging from:
• Community tourism, via Discover Assynt
• The impact of Covid 19 and recovery
• Soft infrastructure projects like the deer fencing of Culag Park and replacing the road signage at Ledmore Junction
• The Cludgie project for motorhome waste disposal
• The resurfacing of the leisure centre car park
• The community eBike scheme
• We’re also an instrumental and influential partner in the Northwest 2045 group and have been pivotal in bringing the Scottish Government’s Regional Land Use Partnership to the Northwest Highlands
• The community led housing development that we hope will see a first phase of 10 homes built on the Glebe land at Lochinver in the next couple of years
We are looking to strengthen the Board of Directors and wish to attract members with a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise that reflect the remote rural aspects of life in the Northwest Highlands, combined with skills required for good management of the organisation. We would particularly welcome applicants with a background or active interest in such areas as heritage, environment, finance, health and wellbeing, digital, and the private sector.
