The Process which led to the current model of Assynt Development Trust
In 2016, David Slator, chair of the Assynt Community Council, called together a public consultation on the need for a Development Trust for Assynt. The consultation involved meetings in Drumbeg, Elphin, Kylesku, Lochinver, and Stoer, followed by a questionnaire that canvased 4.3% of the population. The response from the consultation was that the majority of the consulted residents approved the idea of a development trust for Assynt.
