WELCOME! to a New Mower for Culag Park

A few weeks ago, a public meeting was held by Assynt Community Association, an urgent request for help was raised: Lochinver Football Club’s mower was out of action and the team had been forced, mid- season to resort to cutting the grass, with small push-along mowers.

New Home for Assynt Highland Countryside Ranger

Following the serving of a notice to quit from the Visitor Centre Building in Lochinver, Highland Council has negotiated for the office of the Assynt Countryside Ranger to be based in the Mission Building.  Ranger Andy Summers moved in on the 17th of April 2017, and is settled upstairs beside the Community Archive Room!

Visitor Centre Contents Move Out

Visit Scotland Opens at the Mission

Following a notice to quite from the Visitor Center Building, Visit Scotland moved their Lochinver Tourist Infomation into the Lobby of the Mission Building on Monday 3rd April 2017!  Welcome to Visit Scotland!

Closure of Lochinver Visitor Centre

The issuance on 6th February by Moderandum Ltd  of a Notice to Quit on VisitScotland (VS) effective from May 15th of this year, seals the fate and closure of the Lochinver Visitor Center in its present location.  Text of report to Assynt News can be downloaded here.
